So, Karen and I have always wanted to snag one of the coveted Cabanas on Castaway Cay. This is a next-to-impossible feat because the folks in concierge have access to them 5 days before the platinum members do! No to mention, there are only 20 of them for the entire ship. But, nevertheless, we will persist. Would you like to join us? Here are the benefits to having a Cabana. (please see the picture above for what the Cabana looks like.)
According to PrincessShmoo on the Disboards, you will enjoy the following:
- Each cabana is furnished with comfortable seating,
- a beverage refrigerator.
- fresh fruit and snacks are included.
- complimentary bottled water and soft drinks.
- a safe to keep your valuables in.
- ceiling fan
- plush towels
- sunscreen(Coppertone SPF products)
- selection of magazines..
Outside on the patio:
- luxurious chaise lounge chairs,
- a freshwater shower,
- changing area with curtain
- hammock and sailcloth shade.
- Private cabana beach.
Dedicated beverage service is provided and
alcoholic beverage packages are available for purchase onboard at an additional cost.
Additionally, each cabana includes use of snorkeling equipment, floats, sand toys, and one hour of bike rental, which, if bought separately as a package, costs $46 per person anyway!
In order to enjoy your cabana, without worrying about the cost, you have to think of it as an all day excursion at this particular port. So your excursion, if you choose to experience the cabanas, would cost you approximately $86 per person.
Of course, being on the island is awesome enough and the Cabanas are not necessary to enjoy your day. It just makes it more luxurious and comfortable; and since we have such a large group going, we think it's a great time to try one out.
So, let me know if you would like me to try and snag a Cabana on August 2 when our booking window opens. It's never a guarantee, but it doesn't hurt to try!
